Are you going through life's changes? Do you experience anxiety because you don't know where your life is heading?

There is a favorite song I love from a famous Filipino singer, Jose Mari Chan, Constant Change. I love this song because every time I hear this, it reminds me that I need to be ready and, at the same time, enjoy and savor my present moment because it may change. In the same way, when I experience hardship and difficulties, which I call trials in life, knowing that nothing stays the same, gives me hope and courage to continue moving because I know that, like happy events, it will also pass.

Are there unexpected changes that are happening in your life right now? A sudden change of career or lifestyle. A change of status, relationship, or illness that makes you feel uncertain, insecure, and imbalanced.

Changes, feelings of anxiety, and uncertainty are part of living life. Don't be afraid of it because these emotions are signals and signs that you're growing, and it is a call that you need to push through and go to your next level. However, it would be best to have tools and strategies so you will not hit rock bottom when experiencing unexpected life changes.

Here are some suggestions that will help you deal with life's uncertainties that you can easily incorporate into your day-to-day life so you can live in the moment and experience inner peace and calm.

1. Pray. Prayer is one powerful tool at your disposal that you can use anytime and anywhere. When you pray, you connect yourself with the spirit of God, your Creator. Your God holds your blueprint and knows precisely your next step. Be guided by the one who knows who you really are and your purpose through prayers. Also, study shows that prayers will help reduce your stress.

2. Meditate. Meditation will help you become more aware of your inner world. When you practice meditation, you will become more receptive to your inner knowing as you quiet yourself and silence your internal chatter. Research shows that meditation will help you with clarity, focus, and attention, which are crucial in decision-making and moving to the next level.

3. Keep a gratitude journal. Gratitude is a potent antidote to anxiety and stress. When you're grateful, your brain releases feel-good hormones like dopamine and serotonin that make you happy. It is hard to be anxious when you're so glad. It also releases oxytocin, the love hormone, that will make you feel supported in times of uncertainty. So, Think of 3-5 things you experience that you are grateful for daily. The act of gratitude will direct your mind to see that amazing things are happening and will happen in your life. A gratitude journal will help you focus on the good things in life and learn to see the blessings even in unpleasant situations.

4. Digital Detox. This could be hard for you, but it is worthwhile to assess the impact of your digital habits and decide to set boundaries for your social media use. The constant exposure to "bad" and fake news on social media and TV will add to your uncertainty and anxiety. Hence reducing exposure will help you experience inner calm when things become stressful and uncertain.

5. Add Body Movement to Your Daily Routine. Moving your body will increase your feel-good hormones, endorphins and keep your mind alert so you can make a better decision.
